The Finger Lakes New Knowledge Fusion Project Grant Objectives Create new technologies via the Finger Lakes knowledge fusion process Including: capacity assessment; state-of-knowledge assessments; seminars by industry leaders and futurists; forums between disciplines; forums with industry; awareness workshops; seed grant program; enhance technology transfer. Establish new businesses and investment from these fused technologies Including: mobilization engage/plan/bundle/deploy of business development and support services available in the region; establish support mechanisms for commercialization; assure continued support beyond the grant period; share information through institutional and regional forums. Build a prepared workforce Including: plan and implement recommendations from career tree planning; enhance workforce training in tertiary institutions; guide enrichment of math and science in regions high schools; assist in science-based education exposure in elementary grades; prepare career opportunity awareness. Develop a well-informed community Including: broad educational outreach to schools and communities through various methods – media, lectures, public forums.
